Frequently Asked Questions

After an initial one-off payment for a trial class all payments to Embody Dance are made monthly by Direct Debit through GoCardless on the 1st of each month, every month of the year. Once a GoCardless account is set up Embody Dance will collect a *£12 joining fee which will be collected via your GoCardless account AND the remaining amount for the month based on the number of classes left that month.

*This does not apply for pay weekly classes.

Class fees are calculated as a monthly cost to make budgeting easier for families. For example, a Basic class subscription is £25 per month. This is worked out by multiplying the weekly class price of £7.69 by the 39 weeks we run classes throughout the year (£7.69 x 39 = £299.91). We then divide this total by 12 months (£299.91 ÷ 12 = £25), giving you a consistent monthly payment.

There is a £12 joining fee which covers admin costs to enrol your dancer.

If your monthly payment fails or is delayed, then a £1.50 late fee will be charged to your GoCardless account for every unsuccessful payment. This covers the surcharge charged by GoCardless and admin time to process this.

All studio classes run school term time only. We follow Warwickshire school holidays. If a Bank Holiday falls outside of a school holiday, our classes will still go ahead.

We welcome injured students to watch class so they can continue to learn. If a student is injured, please email admin@embodydance.co.uk and we will advise on the next course of action.

We do not offer *drop-in classes for students. This is so they can experience consistent training and prepare to be part of the annual show.

*The only exceptions to this are Adult Tiger Feet classes and our new born Embabies Stay and Play.

We have a no-hassle cancellation policy. Embody Dance requires you to give 30 days’ notice of class cancellation to either drop a class or leave Embody Dance completely. This is so we can market your dancers space or offer it to the next dancer on the waiting list.

Simply email admin@embodydance.co.uk to request your membership be cancelled within 30 days. During this cancellation period it may include one last full month’s payment. Just for clarification, this last payment will not be prorated it will be a whole month’s payment.

After the last payment has been made, we will cancel your GoCardless Subscription and Mandate meaning no more payments will be taken. During the 30-day notice period, you are welcome to attend the dance classes and make the most of the remaining time on your subscription. After the direct debit has been cancelled, you will no longer have access to the classes.

In the event of a dancer leaving with fees still outstanding, Embody Dance reserves the right to pursue recovery of the debt by all legal means including court action.

Please note: If you choose to leave and return to Embody, you will be treated as a new customer.

Class fees cover the cost of studio, teachers, admin, and weekly classes during term time.

Your first month’s fees may be higher than expected if the month has 5 weeks. This is because class fees are calculated as a monthly cost, and when there are 5 weeks in the first month, the payment reflects the additional class. This ensures the cost remains consistent in the following months.

Class fees are spread across the year to make budgeting easier, which means payments continue during the summer months, even though classes are not running. The summer months are already included in your annual subscription, and by continuing payments, you secure your place for the upcoming term. This approach ensures that the cost of classes remains consistent throughout the year, and helps us to cover studio costs and planning for the next term.
